Wellness and goal setting consultations 

when you arrive Philippa will give you an initial health assessment which will look at a variety of different criteria so we have a starting point from which to set your health goals.  We will then schedule a daily session to talk through nutrition, diet, exercise and lifestyle. Together we will identify challenges and turn them into opportunities - and don't forget our follow-up support when you return home.

 

Personal training and fitness sessions – we have a fully equipped gym and outdoor training area on site which is open to you throughout your stay. We run daily classes which you are welcome to attend and we offer 30 minute personal training sessions with our trainer (optional) to help you devise a program that works for you. Our aim is to educate you and provide correct guidance  within a Gym environment. 

 

Daily off-site activity exploring the Bay of Islands – we are lucky to be situated in a beautiful area which has easy access to countryside, coastal trails and beaches which are perfect for hiking, paddleboarding, kayaking and mountain bike riding. We can exercise, enjoy nature and do some sightseeing at the same time. Everything will be set at a pace you feel comfortable with. There will also be plenty of time to enjoy a trip to one of the local coffee shops for a healthy treat!

Healthy and tasty meals – making sure we provide you with healthy meals is at the heart of what we do. Without calorie counting, we provide three home cooked meals a day which we can teach you how to make. Throughout your stay we will discuss your particular nutritional needs and come up with a healthy eating plan and some recipes for you to take home. We know how difficult it can seem to replicate a healthy eating plan in real life so we will give you lots of tips to help you stay on track. We will talk about how to eat healthily when you are pushed for time, eating out and trying to feed a family.

Accommodation

Our accommodation was carefully designed to ensure you re energise in a peaceful environment with minimal distractions. Rest and recovery is key to re building a healthier mind and body. We can offer (depending on availability) two bedroom poolside unit with lounge, poolside room, luxury glamping tent straw-bale eco pod. Don’t worry if you hate going to the gym, we have a lot of outdoor options.

  • A complimentary 1 hour spa treatment per week of your stay – our resident spa therapist will give you a massage or facial in our beautiful spa room.  Afterwards you can enjoy a herbal tea out on the deck or a relaxing infra-red sauna.

 

  • Time to relax in our salt water pool, Jacuzzi and sauna – set in a sub-tropical garden, our facilities create the perfect relaxing environment to read, meditate or just listen to nature. We believe that relaxing and having time for yourself is just as important as nutrition and exercise.

 

  • Support when you return home – our support doesn’t end when you leave the retreat. We really care about helping you in the long term and want to make sure you feel supported. Philippa will follow up with you after your stay but is also available for you to contact whenever you need to talk.

 

  • Free pick up – don’t worry about getting to or from the retreat, we’ll pick you up from either the Bay of Islands Airport or local bus station. Just let us know when to come and get you.

Pricing

 

Private room or luxury tent $450/person/day (see our room options, this includes a -      private room within our 2 bedroom unit, bookings are taken on a first to book basis)

 

Shared room or luxury tent $400/person/day - you must provide someone to share with

 

 

Our prices are per day and reflect the time and effort our team puts into your wellbeing during your stay.  You can email or phone Philippa to discuss your stay at info@bayofislandsretreat.co.nz or 027 537 0088.  During summer we do require a 50% deposit to secure your booking.
